Wave after wave of various Police, Fire, EMS, and other service workers around Canada, gathered to give respects to fallen police officer Sgt. Ryan Russell. With all the cops on the street, it was hard to shake the feeling of a G20 sequel. Though this time the police were a completely different mood.
I noticed one thing about most of the images I captured today: they could be taken with my 50mm. So for the next event I photograph I will use only my fixed lens. Why? I feel at times my 18-250mm doesn’t provide enough image quality to keep me happy. And it will be a nice experiment to see if I can pull off covering an event without the flexibility of wide angle to telephoto in half a second.
